Dr. Daniela Smejkalova completed her M.Sc.Eng. in Physical and Applied Chemistry in 2003 from Brno University of Technology. She received her PhD in Physical Chemistry from Brno University of Technology in 2006 on the development of Biomimetic catalytic system as Erasmus fellow at University in Naples. She then carried out 2-year postdoctoral research on NMR applications on structural identification, conformation and metaboling at University of Naples under the guidance of Prof. Piccolo. Currently she is Nanocarrier development group leader in Dr. Velebny's research team and she is mainly interested in hyaluronan-based drug delivery systems.

Dr. Gloria Huerta-Angeles received her M.Sc. in Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry of the National Autonomous University of Mexico in 2002. She earned her PhD in Polymer Chemistry from the same University with a thesis titled “Chemical modification of poly-diacetylenes and its electronic properties” in 2006. She then was granted with a UNESCO-IUPAC fellowship at the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry for the development of “smart hydrogels”. Later she joined the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, to carry out postdoctoral research on “molecular nanowires” under the guidance of Prof. Starý before joining the Laboratory of Chemical Synthesis at CONTIPRO Biotech, where she is currently working under the guidance of Dr. Velebný. Her research interests involve the use of chemistry to develop “smart materials” based on Hyaluronan.

Tereza Ehlova completed her M.Sc.Eng. in Biotechnology at the Institute of Chemical Technology Prague in 2008. Shortly after graduation she joined the Contipro company, where she is employed as an R&D group leader of Hyaluronan Fragments under the guidance of Dr. Velebny.
